Webster Groves is a residential community in the southeastern area of St. Louis County. It is made up of five smaller communities along neighboring railroads: Webster, Old Orchard, Webster Park, Tuxedo Park, and Selma, which merged in 1896 to create what is now known as Webster Groves. Webster Groves was named Missouri’s 2013 Creative Community by the Missouri Arts Council. The City has strong roots in the arts and has several places to celebrate the arts, such as The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, The Community Music School and Webster University. In 2021, The National Council for Home Safety and Security named Webster Groves as Missouri’s safest city. The crime rate was recorded just above 1 per 1,000 in 2018 and the property crime rate is only one-third of the national rate.
